April News and Notes
Hello everyone!
It has been some time since I posted anything new on the blog, so here are a few points of interest. Using the same link described below for the March Happenings, you can view an electronic copy of April Happenings which will be reaching your homes in paper format by the end of this week. If you are interested in exhibiting your project at the Hudsonville Livestock Preview Show on May 6, please note that the deadline for reduced price entry fees is Saturday April 29. This is of particular importance as I failed to include the flyer in the March edition of the Happenings. On that note, I would also encourages ALL horse project members to attend the Horsemanship and Trail Benefit Clinic that Bridle Path Riders is holding on Monday May 15 at 7pm at the Hudsonville fairgrounds. The Horse Committee will be providing light refreshments for this event. The Horse Committee also held a very informative leader's meeting last night. Following up on the State Horse Show discussion, Ottawa County has 19 slots available for the State Show and will require 3 volunteers. In 2005 we had 16 riders represent Ottawa County at this event, so if you are thinking of giving it a shot, 2006 would be a great year to try it! Don't forget, this Saturday April 22nd from 9am-12pm is weigh in for all livestock except big beef at Ottawa County Fair and on Monday lambs will weigh in for Berlin Fair from 4-6pm. We have lots of busy families travelling to state events such as Dairy Conference and Goat Expo, among others, so everyone have fun and travel safe! As always, please call the 4-H office if you have questions about all that is happening in the 4-H community, locally and statewide!
Take Care!!
~Becky
